Flight Arrivals at Ibiza Airport
Ibiza airport arrivals will find several onward transport options at the single terminal building; the airport serves not just the Balearic Island of Ibiza, but also the neighbouring island of Formentera and a shuttle bus & ferry connect the two.
The airport is located 4.3 miles/7.5 km to the south-west of Ibiza Town and is also near the town of San José.
Most of Ibiza Airport arrivals typically happen during the peak tourist season, which runs from May to October. This means that most international flight connections in and out of the airport are seasonal. Domestic air travel to mainland destinations such as Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, are available all year round, as are other inter-connecting island flights.
Growing numbers of tourists visiting Spain have also left their mark on Ibiza. Last year passenger arrivals at Ibiza Airport as well as departures had increased to 5.6 million.
Ibiza Airport arrivals might be from Prague, Brussels, Berlin, Venice, Cologne-Bonn or London, Paris or Milan. Spanish people holidaying on the Balearic Islands also use the airport and might travel from Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, Seville, Menorca or Barcelona.
Ibiza arrivals have a choice of domestic and international airlines, particularly during the summer, when far greater numbers of flights and destinations are available. Budget carriers such as Ryanair and Vueling, Jet2.com, Air Europa, Bmibaby, Germanwings or Condor Flugdienst provide great value for money connections to many European destinations.
Arrivals at the single terminal building will find the car rental desks on level 0.
Ibiza Buses serving Line 10 run a shuttle service between the airport and the main bus terminal in the city. Ibiza Bus stops are located right next to the terminal building.
Ibiza Buses leave the airport every 15 minutes during the peak tourist season in August and July as well as every 20 minutes during the remaining summer months; these shuttle buses operate between the hours of 6.00 am and midnight, starting their journey at Estació Maritima Formentera via the port, then reach Eivissa (the main bus terminal) and travel onward via Sant Jordi to the airport. Ibiza Airport arrivals can catch the first Ibiza Bus services at 6.20 am and the final bus of the day leaves the airport at 12.20 am at night. During the winter season these buses run only every 30 minutes.
Passengers looking to travel by taxi will find the taxi rank right next to the terminal building. The minimum fare for a taxi journey is EUR 3.25 and it costs roughly EUR 15.00 from Ibiza Airport to the city center, when travelling between day time hours of 7.00 am and 9.00 pm on weekdays and EUR 17.00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Ibiza arrivals with reduced mobility can choose from two taxi operators, who operate specially adapted vehicles. Passengers who need specially adapted taxis should contact Radio Taxi de San José on tel +34 971 800 080, if there is no vehicle available at the time of their arrival.
The airport has a number of cafes, bars and snack bar serving refreshments such as soft drinks, coffee or tea, pastries, filled rolls or sandwiches. Various shops in the terminal offer anything from newspapers, guide books and maps to fashion, accessories or gastronomic produce from Spain.
There are two ATM's and banking facilities at the terminal and passengers seeking accommodation will find 9 hotels are located in close proximity to the airport, such as the Club Bahamas hotel complex in San José or El Corso in Ibiza Town.
